Rev. Larry W. Hauser
My first commitment is to love the Lord with all my heart, soul, mind and strength and to love my neighbor as my self. My second commitment is to be a Christian husband to my wife and a Christian father to my children. My wife, Tammy, and I have been blessed in my marriage for fourteen years, and we have two children—Taylor (15) and Hanna (12). Tammy and I see a call into the ordained ministry as a shared vocation. We seek to serve God, together, as a family. Thirdly, God has called me into the ministry of the ordained. I strive to serve God faithfully as a Methodist minister in the tradition of Wesley, Asbury, and—ultimately—Jesus Christ.
I am 47(2010) years old and grew up in Lee‘s Summit, MO. Right after high school I joined the United States Air Force. I served our great country for twenty-three years.
While in the Air Force I earned my BA degree from Wayland Baptist University. Upon retiring from the Air Force I started attending Asbury Theological Seminary, at the Florida campus, working toward my Master of Divinity. I hope to graduate in 2010.
I started my call to ministry with my first position being the youth pastor at Bemiss United Methodist Church in Valdosta. My first part time appointment was at the Sumner Charge, four beautiful rural churches located in Ty Ty, Damascus, Sumner and Shingler, GA. Upon retiring from the USAF I took my first full time appointment at Morven Charge, in Morven, GA. From there God led us to New Harvest UMC in Valdosta, GA.
My main hobby is amateur (ham) radio. I was licensed as a young man and I still get excited talking to people all over the world. I also work with the county leaders to help provide emergency backup communications if the need should ever arise. I am also blessed with having ham radio operators attending New Harvest UMC and we now have our own club call sign, WG4UM (Working Georgia 4 United Methodist).
Thank you for taking the time to find out more about our church (and me). Please join us for worship or another activity. I hope that you will share in the Life with us soon.- Larry
